Q&A with Adam and Donna

Join the discussion in our forums, ask Adam and Donna your questions!

Adam and Donna have been very active in the Under Twin Skies forums, answering questions our forum members have about the game. We've decided to compile a Q&A list that will be continually updated as we get more information. If you have questions for Adam or Donna, feel free to join our forums! We can't guarantee every question will be answered of course, but they've been great at answering a good majority of them.

Q: I'm curious if you have a certain number of classes and races in the works. I know you can't tell us the details yet, but can you say how many of each we can expect? - Flower

A: The humans will get five classes in total, we should release the next one soon (hint - you've already seen the art). Each other race will get a similar number of classes. - Adam

Q: Will each account be able to create multiple characters? If so, how many? - Flower

A: Yes, you'll be able to create multiple characters but we haven't decided any of the details of that yet. You'll probably want one main character because there's going to be so much to do. - Adam

Q: A fun thing in Neopets was the plot lines - are you hoping to do similar events in Twin Skies? - JoshieLove

A: The whole thing is going to be one big plot line. We have 6 full time writers on staff who are dedicated to making an awesome fantasy world. We're going to have storylines and GM-driven events galore. We got frustrated at the end of our time at Neopets because we didnt have the resources to make any more stories/plots, we wont make that mistake again. - Adam

Q: What is the target demo for the game going to be? I assume you'll try and bring in as many players from as many different demos, but who do you think the core userbase will be? Will it be mandated kid-friendly, in terms of what you can say and talk about? - Suri

A: Its probably going to be more like Neopets circa 99. Cute with dark undertones heh. It's really not going to be a kids game, although I suspect younger players will be able to pick it up. We'll probably have some kid-friendly servers that have filtering and around the clock monitoring, but we're not sure about that. It would certainly be optional though. Our target demographic is probably in the 13-18 range. - Adam

Q: I hear that beta passes and various swag are being given out at PAX next month, but it's on the wrong side of the country for me. So are the going to be chances for other people to join in on the beta? - Suri

A: Yup, we wont be limiting the alpha or beta (whatever we call it) places to PAX. We'll be giving out spots on the website too. - Adam

Q: I noticed that the game will be subscription based...will there also be a free version like on Neopets or will you have to pay to play? Is the subscription only month-to-month or is there a year basis too? Will there be a trial period to determine whether or not you want to invest the money in the game? - Pink

A: Yes we'd love to do a free version, its just down to the business details really. If 99% of our playerbase are playing for free then we wont be able to afford the servers to host them on. It'll be some sort of hybrid of free trial / subscription / micropayments. We haven't considered the terms of subscription yet but I assume there would be a discount for 3, 6, 12 month terms. We'll absolutely have a trial though! - Adam

Q: Do you plan to have any events in the UK and/or sell merch there when the game gets under way? - Pye

A: We'll certainly do a UK launch thing when we have enough people interested! - Adam
